Tepic (RRC): Según las actualizaciones más recientes del Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC) de EE.UU., la tormenta tropical Priscilla, que se formó hoy frente a la costa suroeste de México, se espera que se intensifique y alcance la categoría de huracán de categoría 1 (con vientos sostenidos de al menos 119 km/h) para la noche del domingo 5 de octubre o temprano el lunes 6.
Priscilla es una tormenta tropical «grande» con vientos máximos sostenidos de alrededor de 75 km/h (45 mph), extendiéndose hasta 220 km desde el centro. Se mueve hacia el noroeste a unos 11 km/h. Se desplazará paralela a la costa de México, manteniéndose offshore, con un giro hacia el noroeste a partir del lunes. No se espera que toque tierra directamente, pero podría generar condiciones de tormenta tropical en áreas costeras.
Autoridades mexicanas han emitido una vigilancia de tormenta tropical desde Punta San Telmo hasta Punta Mita, con posibles impactos el domingo y lunes (lluvias, vientos y oleaje alto). Oleaje generado por Priscilla podría causar condiciones peligrosas de surf y corrientes de resaca en la costa suroeste de México, y extenderse a Baja California Sur para el lunes.
