Irán (RRC): El presidente de Irán, Masud Pezeshkian, reveló este sábado que Estados Unidos exigió a Teherán entregar todo su uranio enriquecido —específicamente más de 400 kilos enriquecidos al 60%, muy cerca del nivel necesario para uso militar— a cambio de una prórroga de solo tres meses antes de restaurar las sanciones de la ONU. Pezeshkian calificó esta condición como «totalmente inaceptable» y «irrazonable», afirmando que Irán prefiere enfrentar el reinicio inmediato de las sanciones antes que ceder a tales demandas.
Esta declaración se produce en medio de una escalada en las tensiones por el programa nuclear iraní, tras la salida de EE.UU. del acuerdo nuclear de 2015 (JCPOA) en 2018 bajo la administración Trump. Las potencias europeas (E3: Francia, Alemania y Reino Unido) habían propuesto aplazar hasta seis meses el «mecanismo de reinicio rápido» de sanciones pre-2015, a condición de que Irán reanudara la cooperación con el Organismo Internacional de Energía Atómica (OIEA), permitiera inspecciones en instalaciones como Natanz, Fordow e Isfahán —dañadas en la guerra de doce días con Israel en junio de 2025— y aclarara el paradero del uranio enriquecido, que Teherán afirma quedó enterrado bajo los escombros de ataques estadounidenses e israelíes.
Sin embargo, las negociaciones con EE.UU. se estancaron por esta exigencia radical. «Exigen que les entreguemos todo nuestro uranio enriquecido y, a cambio, nos dan tres meses, lo cual es inaceptable en cualquier sentido», declaró Pezeshkian a la televisión estatal iraní desde Nueva York, antes de regresar de la Asamblea General de la ONU. Agregó que Washington podría reactivar las sanciones en unos meses de todos modos, lo que hace la oferta aún más insostenible.
El Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU rechazó una resolución de China y Rusia para extender el alivio de sanciones, lo que permite que las medidas pre-2015 —que incluyen embargos a exportaciones nucleares y restricciones financieras— entren en vigor a medianoche del 27 de septiembre.
Irán ha advertido que responderá con represalias, posiblemente acelerando su programa nuclear o fortaleciendo alianzas con Rusia y China. Pezeshkian reiteró en la ONU que Irán «nunca ha buscado ni buscará construir una bomba nuclear», citando el edicto religioso del Líder Supremo.
Esta postura iraní desafía directamente a EE.UU. e Israel, que ven el enriquecimiento al 60% como una amenaza inminente, y podría agravar la inestabilidad regional tras los eventos de junio.
